Exodus 3:4 says, "When the Lord saw that he had caught Moses' attention, God called to him from the bush." I believe that short term mission trips are a tool that God uses to catch our attention. When we leave behind our daily routine and journey with God into an unfamiliar place, we are then prepared to listen to what God has to say. It was on short term trip to Guatemala when God began to get my attention and speak to me about the spiritual and social needs around the world. Since that trip I've seen God "catch the attention" of many other people through short term mission trips.
