The Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf is a ministry that brings the gospel of Jesus Christ to the deaf of Jamaica. Through this ministry they teach the deaf a language, provide a basic education, train in vocational areas, mentor and encourage the leaders and promote outreach, community, worship, and continuing education.
Simply Missions partners with CCCD to help bring volunteers to each of their four campuses on the island of Jamaica. Teams interested in working with CCCD in Jamaica could choose to stay and work in Kingston, Knockpatrick, Mandeville, or Montego Bay (based on availability). With all of these locations, there is always a lot of work that needs to be done. Your team would work alongside CCCD project leaders to help them accomplish their vision: "That none will leave our care without a language, an education, a skill
and a personal knowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord." |

When can we go? Contact us for location availability. OR, fill out the online Request for Proposal form and we'll put together a custom quote for your team.
How much does the trip cost? Approximately $550 + Airfare (which generally runs in the $400 - $650 range.) We do provide travel services for airfare booking in order to keep the whole process SIMPLE! Contact us for a custom quote.
Do I need a Passport or Visa? YES! To travel abroad to any country outside of the United States you now need to have a passport. No visa is currently required for US Citizens to enter Jamaica at this time.
How long is the trip? CCCD trips are always 8 days. Teams working at any of the CCCD locations will arrive and depart on Saturday.
Where is Jamaica and where are the campuses located? Jamaica is just south of Cuba in the western Caribbean Sea. The four CCCD campuses are located in Kingston (South East Jamaica), Mandeville (Central Jamaica), Knockpatrick (Central Jamaica), and Montego Bay (North West Jamaica). See the map to the left for a better view of the island.
What is included in the cost? Everything you'll need once you enter Jamaica: food, lodging, transportation, drinking water, a one day trip to beautiful YS River Falls or Dunns River Falls (depending on your work location), and even supplemental health insurance!
What is not included? Airfare, passport, vaccinations, spending money, and offering at church services.

What language do they speak in Jamaica? English. Although many Jamaicans also speak Patwah a local derivative of Creole.
Is it safe? Yes. We take extra precautions and lay down strict ground rules to ensure safety. Crime occurs in Jamaica just like everywhere else, but it is considered a safe place to visit.
What about bugs, snakes, and other poisonous creatures? Jamaica has its share of these animals, as does every tropical country on earth. The chance of seeing anything dangerous is very, very slim. You'll want to be prepared with bug repellent (30% Deet), but the most dangerous thing you'll probably face is the sun, so lots of sunblock should also make your list.
Who can go on this mission trip? Anyone you want to bring. Simply Missions is different from other short-term mission agencies in that we want to work alongside you as a leader in developing both your skills and your team. We welcome you to include families with children, junior high, high school and college students, and adults of any age!
How do airline tickets work? We have arrangements with a couple of different travel agencies that specialize in group travel. Also, we can put you into direct contact with most airlines which offer a discounted rate for groups of 10 or more.
What do I do now that all my questions are answered? Go to the Request for Proposal page and fill out the online request form. We'll contact you with a custom quote for your team.
